4. 묘행무주분[妙行無住分] - 묘한 행은 머무름이 없다 

復次 須菩提 菩薩 於法應無所住 行於布施

부차 수보리 보살 어법응무소주 행어보시

또한 수보리여, 보살은 법(法)에 응당히 머무는 바 없이 보시를 행해야 한다.

Also, Subhuti, a bodhisattva should practice charity without thoughts of abiding by the dharma (mind).


所謂不住色布施 不主聲香味觸法布施

소위부주색보시 부주성향미촉법보시

소위 색에 머물지 말고 보시해야 하며, 성향미촉법에 머물지 말고 보시해야 한다.

You should practice charity without dwelling on form and other six senses (eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind).

*The six senses here describe the elements that makes up an individual entity like you and I.

須菩提. 菩薩 應如是布施 不住於相

수보리. 보살 응여시보시 부주어상

수보리여, 보살은 마땅히 이와같이 상에 머물지 말고 보시해야 한다.

Subhuti, a Bodhisattva, therefore, should practice charity without dwelling on ego, "I".

10. 장엄정토분 [莊嚴淨土分]

應無所住 而生 其心 

응무소주 이생 기심

One should not dwell on anything and give rise to the mind

*This is supposedly the line that the Sixth Patriarch of Zen Buddhism, Huineng, heard someone reciting in a marketplace, which made him study Buddhism.
